    1980 gs850l petcock

I need a new petcock for 1980 gs850l , I measured the bolt spacing it is 44mm is this measurement correct ? I see some comments say the measurement should be 50mm.

The stock petcock (PN 44300-47270) is still available from Suzuki.

1998 Honda ST1100 (Daily long distance rider)
1982 GS850GLZ (Daily rider when the weather is crap)

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.

Can it be replaced with a lever on/off petcock ?

Not enough room under there. That's why Suzuki used that type of petcock. They work just fine though.

How about a pic pf your petcock- maybe someone switched tanks or you don't actually have a 1980 model. The typical 1980 petcock is 50mm centerline

Sorry for the bad info I borrowed my neighbors calipers and it does measure 50mm , threw my calipers in the garbage. I see alot of guys are using the plastic shut off switches do these last or are there better ones out there ?

New OEM factory petcock and forget about it for the next 20 years.
