1982 Suzuki GS550L 2-3K throttle issue
I have an issue and need some help, and probably parts. I have a 1982 Suzuki GS500L. My mom gave me the bike and we knew there were some issues. Road it a few times and decided I wanted to put pod filters on it. Somewhere in that process, something went wrong. At 2-3000 RPM's, basically when I open up the throttle, the bike lags big time. Like won't do anything. After being frustrated, I parked it for the winter and started playing with it in May of this year. I purchased K&N filters for it and put in 100 main jets as that's what I've read. Ended up taking to a guy that knows a lot about bikes. He found a lot of things wrong with the carbs and ended up rebuilding them. Replaced both coils. Reset everything back to stock setting minus the main jets and filters. Bike idles well and starts okay. But we still have the same issue. My thought was maybe my petcock was damaged at some point and now there's a vacuum issue that's leaning the bike out when I open up the throttle. Please help. This is frustrating.Tags: None
