    GS650 Carb on GS850

I need to replace just the #1 carb body on my 81 GS850, and found a #1 carb from an 82 GS650. Does anyone know if these are interchangeable?

    Thanks in advance.

It can be made to work, but it's not a perfect fit.

The main air jet is larger on the 650. (2.0 vs. 1.7)
The starter jet on the 650 is MUCH larger. (45 vs. 32.5)
    The bypass ports on the 650 are smaller. (0.8, 0.7, 0.8 vs. 1.0, 0.8, 0.8)

You could probably change the main jet to compensate for the air jet.
The starter jet is only used when you activate the "choke", so it's very temporary.
Nothing you can do about the bypass ports, but they are pretty close.

The other jets will simply swap into the new body, but you have to keep these non-adjustable items in mind.
