    Jardines

Hey fellow GSer's! I have a chance to pic up an NOS Jardine exhaust system but am not sure if the pipes will be in the way of my side stand or will fit my bike at all. The Jardine P/N is 14-4502-01. I can't seem to reference it anywhere online. Does anyone know? The box does state it fits 78-82 gs750L/1000/1100L. My bike is a 1979 GS1000N. (no letter in the description of the 1000 on the box).Any help is much appreciated.

    4 into 1 or 4 into 2?

Typically 4into1 no center stand works. I installed a Jardine 4into2 on a kz1000 and the centre stand is functional.

IMOP the Jardine is not great quality.
1978 Gs1085 compliments of Popy Yosh, Bandit 1200 wheels and front end, VM33 Smoothbores, Yosh exhaust, braced frame, ported polished head
1983 Gs1100ESD, rebuild finished! Body paintwork happening winter 2017:D

I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.

Yeah forgot to mention it's a 4 into 2 system. I'm concerned about the side stand as well but to be honest ,I rarely use the sidestand. I contacted Jardine and the owners of the company cannot find the P/N in their system. The system was purchased by the current owner many years ago but it didn't work on his bike. Seeing as there is no real gap between the two pipes on each side where the muffler attaches to the header pipe, kinda concerns me. Any knowledge here is gladly accepted.

The muffler mounting point is in a different location on the L models. Most likely you will need to make a short link to make up the difference. I don't remember if the L is higher or lower though.

I can only find the Mac 4 into 2 exhaust available for my old GS1000. Are there others out there? I'd like to continue with the stock look.
