    Exhaust gaskets...use once or...?

I need to replace my GS750EC oil pan and it appears I'll have to remove the exhaust (silencers & pipes).
Should I replace the the exhaust gaskets (14181-01D00) or give the existings another go?

    Cheers, Andy

I would replace them just for good measure and be done with it for awhile

OEM gaskets can be used a few times before they need replacing. cheap aftermarket gaskets are usually knackered after one use, (if they seal properly in the first place!). if they dont look too badly damaged or compressed, they should be ok to use again.

Does this assume they weren't crushed flat by the previous install?

I have to remove the exhaust ( SS supertrapp)to change my oil filter, which i do every second oil change. I have replaced the exhaust gaskets once in 30 years (for no real reason) they weren't leaking.
maybe i'll change them this year.

Re-using exhaust gaskets is just a roll of the dice. Sometimes they'll seal, sometimes not.

Personally, my time has value and I hate doing things twice. So I keep an extra set or two on the shelf and replace them each time. They're cheap.
