Just took out all four float valves. In the write up it shows that they have a filter on the end of each. Not one of mine has a filter on it. Did some come without filters?Comment

No, all the CV-type carbs (like yours) left the factory with filters.
There is a filter in the tank at the intake for the petcock, this is the secondary filter. They are available, but I can't remember where.
If you can't find them, get a filter for a lawn tractor. Since most of them are also gravity-fed systems, they won't be as restrictive as one designed for a car.
