To change out 1 outer Intake 'pipe' on GS1100E
I am looking to remove the number 1 intake manifold / pipe. Have a stripped thread on the head where the 5mm Allen head bolt is located / to be removed / when installing (my Morgan Carbtune) carb sync vacuum fittings. I want to properly tap and insert a helicoil and make sure I do not lose the little break away tang on that helicoil. Intake system is factory airbox. With filter housing out of the way and the 2 bolts securing airbox to frame removed......is there sufficient room to move the carb and air box assembly to the rear to allow removal of that intake 'pipe?' Said intake parts...head and air box side are new within 2 years....3,000 miles ;-( and are flexible.Last edited by Guest; 07-23-2018, 12:41 AM.Tags: None

Agree. You will have to move the carbs to the side, there is not enough room to simply pull them to the back.

Thanks Rick and Steve..... Has been a few months since I had carbs out.....and there was no intent then to merely move rack out of the way.
