Petcock stuck in tank?
Is there an internal nut or something to the petcock? I have one bolt out and the other is just spinning endlessly. I tried to pry under it while backing the bolt out, but no joy. I'm guessing theres an internal nut or something that's broken loose and spinning?Tags: None

Yeah probably. Never heard of that happening but there's always first. I'd think you can probably hold the bolt with a wrench and drill the head off to remove the petcock. Then hopefully the bolt shank and nut will fall into the tank where you can remove it and then braze a new nut to the tank. Just a thought.'84 GS750EF (Oct 2015 BOM) '79 GS1000N (June 2007 BOM) My Flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/soates50/

Well, that's a bit of a bummer, but at least I'm not doing a restoration. I'll probably just get another tank, I pretty much had planned on it at this point, just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something obvious, thank you.

I can see that it is less than stellar internally, which is why I was pulling the pet cock anyway, so it's probably just as well.
