vm 26 fuel T sourcing question

20190311_151121.jpgGS1000 with VM26 carbs has leaking fuel rail T. Is it possible to just buy the new rubber sleeves for the stock fuel T? Looking to get cheap because Im not keeping this bike.

The easy way is to order from a member here....if you have the time, you could fiddle with the o-rings at a hardware store and find the correct ones eventually

Thank you but i dont think mine works with orings. posted pic of it.

I just stole one off a second set of carbs I forgot i had, although they are original equipment also and felt a bit loose. fingers crossed for luck.

A soak in some gas may help it swell up and fit better.

When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

Definitely soak the T in gas overnight to let it swell up
If it's loose, it's going to leak
In fact, soak all 3 connectors

These work well, I also used O-rings from http://www.cycleorings.com/ they fit better than the ones supplied. I believe I used two that were supplied to shoulder right up past the second groove on either side to help keep it centered : https://www.z1enterprises.com/fuel-p...-200-1026.html

The new T is the way to go. If money is tight or you have time constraints you can slice down into the rubber and remove the fake O-ring and then install a real one in it's place. Just make sure the metal tube that the O-ring is sealing against is clean and free from any damage and that the surface is smooth.

the one i found worked after all....and sold the bike...... but if you look at the picture of the T i had posted about, it doesn't have grooves for o rings, the whole part that goes into the carb was rubber.
