    Fitting a gs1000e delkevic 4-1 on 1982 gs1100E ????

Has anyone on here tried fitting the delkevic 4-1 straight pipe made for the gs1000 onto a gs1100E?

My 1100e is frankensteined to look like a 78 gs1000 but only the side plates and tank has been switched. I havent run across any 4-1 straight yoshi style pipes for the 1100e.

I did talk to the people at motogpwerks about the pipes they have for the gs and was told the headers are the same.. so would have to configure the rear bracket. Those pipes are a little pricey...but it appears that the delkevic pipe looks very similar.

I would appreciate hearing if anyone has done this and or how you like that brand of pipe on your bike.

I have a Delkevic pipe for an 1100G in reality what turned up is the same pipe as the one for the 1000E (says so inside the box). I wouldn't think it would work across the 1100E though as it's 16v not 8v engine. I believe the early GSXR pipes can be made to work...

Posplayr did some work on that & I think the guy over in France might have a GSXR pipe fitted on one of his build threads... Can remember his screen name offhand.

Marving make a nice system for the 1100. Have you had a look at them? Their pipe fits both the 750 and the 1100 - the Delkevic system might as well.

I have a marving on my Skunk - very expensive over here as you have to import. It's an 8v pipe like yours Wally. I didn't know they did one for the 16v.

Gregory - I didn't yet fit the Delkevic but they seem to get decent reviews here.

Thanks Hampshirehog. I like the Marving look and quality, and especially like that you dont have to remove the center stand. ... nut havent found one for the 1982 gs1100e yet, but will keep searching. They are pretty cashy like the motogpwerks pipes too.

Have a look at the Hindle systems available from Ripple Rock Racing.
Shipping costs MIGHT be offset by exchange rates.
Ripple Rock Racers manufactures custom performance motorcycle exhausts and aluminum billet triples. More horsepower, less weight. For those that are serious about racing.

You know you can return the pipes if they don't fit.

They are nice, but quite pricey at $726.40 shipped, and not sure about the tips because I couldn't find the link to the 4 that are offered. To me they look very similar to the Mac pipe in the black and chrome style but they also require loss of center stand.

I don't know if it had anything to do with the V&H Street Megaphone on my third hand 11ez, but my big GS came to me without a centerstand, and I haven't missed it in the least. In fact, I've come to prefer it this way (lighter, more like a modern sport bike ).

Last night I used my paddock stand ($19) to check the oil and lube the chain.

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

I guess i will have to buy me one.

How do you change your front wheel without a center stand, can the rear be on the paddock stand then jack up underneath engine like I do with a center stand?

I was hoping posplayer would chime in about that but guess hes not following this section. BTW, are you happy with the ground clearance on the Delkevic? I am almost ready to pull the trigger on one.

I was happy enough with the clearance on the V&H and the yoshi pipes I've previously used where they go 4 into 1 in the same way so I don't expect this to be any different....

                            16v 1100 headers fit 8v 1000. At least Vance & Hines 4 into 1.

I ended up buying the Delkevic because when I called them I found out they do make a pipe for the 82 gs1100e.

They haven't advertised them yet but they have them in stock. I like the sound and it lightened the bike up a bit. I haven't ridden it but once down the street, so I will have to wait and decide if it performs any different, albeit louder than OEM at slower speeds/rpm.

I have a couple pictures and a video of the sound if it will let me post them here.
