Gold Anodizing Carb and other parts?
Hey Guys! Does anyone do their own home anodizing in their restorations? I think it would really add to the finished product to bring back the gold anodized parts/nuts/bolts on a carb rebuild? I see lots of kits around but wonder if they will work for the brackets and parts used in a set of GS carbs? I see most kits are for aluminum and these parts look more like metal? Suzuki somehow plated them?20191227_134716.jpgTags: None

So you are saying the parts below ( R Brake Adjustable Arm, Starter Housing, Nuts, Screws, or any "Gold looking part") Is done this way from the factory? It would be so great if I could do this plating restoration since I usually wire wheel most of these things to remove the rust and it also takes off the gold.

Caswell's Plating sells most everything you need. You can get a power supply from ebay or similar. I've done quite a bit of plating this way and it's a lot of work but doable. The results are commiserate with how well you prep the parts and how effective your bath is.Ed
