Need advice! Rebuild carbs for 1978 GS500e(4cyl)

    Hi,
I am soon cleaning the carbs in a ultrasonic cleaner. Where can i get gasket kit for it? O-rings? Something else i need to get as well? And can i use gaskets from a 550? Do they use same carbs? There is alot for 550 on eBay but not the 500 as it was a sleeved down "insurance" modell and not sold as nearly as many of.
    Thanx.

I believe the carbs are the same, save possible jetting changes
Order some O rings and gaskets for a 550, and clean your current parts per the tutorial.
You have been to the BassCliff site?
    Do not buy carb kits

Bikecliff's site is full of advice, but no parts. http://gsarchive.bwringer.com/mtsac/...d_Tutorial.pdf

Buy your O-rings from http://www.cycleorings.com/ he's great at international shipping. Gaskets would probably be best sourced locally, or you could make your own if you're brave.

As Big T said, avoid carb kits. You'll be spending money on inferior brass bits that you don't need.

Thank you all for advice, ordered gaskets and o-rings. Will buy a ultrasonic cleaner when the parts arrive and give it a good clean.
