2-1 intake with vm carb
Hello.. I have a gs 550 with cv carbs.. Because i put 4-1 exauhst and i havent airbox on it i cant make it run correctly.. Im thinking to make a 2-1 intake (2 cylinders 1 carburetor) and put a mechanical carb like vm34 or smaller... Do you know if this is possible.? I ve seen there is a mod like that for cb750.. Thanks for any advise..
Ps.. I cant put airbox back on it.Last edited by vaggmak; 03-10-2020, 03:20 PM.Gs550Tags: None

I don't see how that would accomplish anything. If you can't replace the air box, pods & a lot of re-jeting & adjustments will probably be your only way out. Just my opinion. Later yrs. GS550's had 2 CV carbs, don't remember the size, for the 4 cyl eng. but they also need the air box.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. You will need to get a jet kit from 6Sigma or Dynojet to make it run, plus some quality pods like APE or K&N
The CV carbs need a restriction to work properly. Let me guess- it revs to about 4k and won't go higher
Manifolds are possible, but seems like a long, hard way to resolve a simple problem1978 GS 1000 (since new)
