Cleaning the fuel reserve

Ok so I have 1982 gs 1100 gk I want to get the reserve working&nbsp; but I can't find anything on it in the manual&nbsp; are there any tip and tricks.for.taking it off cleaning it and making sure it works&nbsp; and can someone explains how.ot. Works&nbsp;<br><br>

Best tip is to get a new petcock and enjoy life....waste of time fiddling with these things

How it works. There is no res. tank. There is only one tank. The pet cock has 2 openings, right side by side. The "on" inlet is appx. 1 1/2" tall, right beside it, on the same petcock there is opening, the "res." opening, level with the bottom of the tank. Fuel runs thru the taller "on" tube till the fuel is below the inlet "top" of this tube, you still have appx. 1 1/2" of fuel in the tank. you switch to res & fuel flows thru the "res." opening till tank is empty. Believe me, you're not the first to ask this question.
