There is a vacuum line from the carb that needs to be blocked. Maybe that's what you're mechanic did. Just stuff a bolt or something in it.

Golf Tee if you have one around, less chance at deforming the hole, plus they're tapered for a sure fit.

you remove the tank. if you dont have a gravity bottle get a chunk of 1/4 inch gas line and a double end barbed deal from the auto parts store. set the tank up on the bench higher than the bike and measure how much youll need. ON the back of carb 2 where the petcock vacuum line goes put a small piece of vac line on that and plug with a bolt. Use barbed adapter to plug the gas line into the one on the carbs. Set petcock on the PRIme position so fuel will flow...sync carbs.

Shop Proline Series 1/4-in x 1/4-in Barbed Splicer Fitting in the Brass Fittings department at Lowe's.com. Splicers are ideal for connecting two rubber or plastic plumbing lines. Constructed of lead-free brass, barbed fittings are suitable for multiple potable water
