float needle seat hold down screw stripped

well got into the carbs tonight to start rebuilding and someone before me had stripped out the hold down screw for the float needle valve seat. looks like they had dremeled a slot in it but it is so tore up even a flat screw driver wont work. it is in a tight space so i cant get anything on the outside of the screw head. any suggestions?

    this is on a 83 gs850

    thanks

Reverse drill bit? I wouldn’t want to use an extractor on anything that small as they have a tendency to snap off in whatever it is your trying to extract.... and that creates a whole new problem.

Impact wrench is the best way with all of these. Otherwise you're going to have to drill & re-tap to a bigger size or helicoil.....

I’m a machine repair electrician and I have come to find only one type of extractor that is worth using. Don’t waste your time with the cheap spiraling extractors or anything else- they all break and then you got a bigger problem.

          use these:

I forgot to mention with these there’s no need for drill bits. All you need is one of the bits sized to your problem fastener. The hard part is remembering to put your drill in reverse when using the drilling end of the bits.
