Confirming Vacuum Line Routing 1979 GS1000L

    Hi all.

On the last stages of getting the buke fired up.

I have searched and read several threads on this and my carb quad seems to be a hair different.

I will start with how it was hooked up when I got it... doesn't make much sense to me after reading but nonetheless:

Carb 1 - air vent does not exist i.e. no nipple
Carb 2 - air vent BUT was capped with a rubber piece
Carb 3 - suction I believe and going to the Petcock valve
Carb 4 - air vent BUT was connected to fuel sender overflow

The cap on 2 and the connection on 4 to the sender unit both seem off to me.

From what I read, both 2 and 4 are simply vent lines and the sender unit connection is simply an overflow.

Carb 3 seems to be accurate.

    Will someone please confirm?

    Thanks!

    You are correct

    #3 to petcock
#2 and #4 are vents for the float bowls, run vent lines up and over to behind the airbox

Fuel sender overflow just runs back near airbox
