Since finishing the exhaust, I have removed and polished all of the covers and replaced the engine cover emblems. I like a high brushed finish as opposed to a high polish.Last edited by Longitudinal; 08-28-2020, 01:12 PM.1982 GS1100GL: hand built stainless 4-1 exhaust, pods, jetting.

Beautiful work. Nice on the beefy head flanges.
How's it sound?sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

Thanks to all who have stopped in and paid a compliment. This kind of work is laborious and time consuming, so it means a lot for people to recognize it.
I will try to get a sound clip up. I haven't even tried to record on yet. Maybe I can have a friend shoot a short video tonight. I do like the sound very much. It has a nice tone and plenty of attitude without being obnoxious. I really hate obnoxious pipes. We all have our own standard as to what should or shouldn't be done, but I live close to the city on a popular cruising thoroughfare. I hear a lot of straight piped V twins splattering their way up the road and a lot of bikerboiz with open megaphones howling from several miles away. I never want to be mistaken for one belonging to either of those crowds.1982 GS1100GL: hand built stainless 4-1 exhaust, pods, jetting.

Very impressive - especially that front view. Well done.
Of course, the proof is in the 'putting'. Hope it sounds as good as it looks.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red
