82 gs850L leaking carbs
I have a 1982 gs850L, to which I have made many mods. Bought as a bike not running then after getting it running 4 years ago I put headers ,pods, and a carb kit on it. It ran good but I continued playing with it until the end of last year the carbs started leaking. I have started working on them again this year but cant seem to figure out where they are leaking from . They dont seem to leak on the bench with a remote fuel tank attached. When on the bike and running they start dripping from what seems like the front screws that are on the bracket that connects the 4 carbs together. I know this isn't possible ,that the fuel must be running down from somewhere. I have checked and changes all o rings and gaskets. Nothing helps. Anyone got any ideas? I'm tired. I've had the carbs off and apart more times than I can count.Tags: None

Yes. Though obviously something is wrong . I have been playing with these carbs for 4 years now . I have all the tools and I'm very familiar with these carburetors. Aswell as the gs resources. With that said I downloaded your info and looked threw it. I have multiple links like this downloaded from this site. I appreciate the help, I feel like its something simple that I just cant figure out. The bike runs great at this point it just drips gas and I cant figure out the source. I saw somebody say they put Greese on the bowl gasket and that worked for them . I see you said to put Greese on all o rings, I use oil. It seems to me that it must be coming from the gasket but I'm just not sure how. Tomarrow I will try a light coat of wheel bearing greese on both sides of the gasket, but since I know the float needle is shutting of the flow of gas before it gets to the height of the gasket I cant see how how it could possibly be leaking there.

So I read somewhere in here that somebody coated both sides of the bowl gaskets with wheel bearing Greese. And I read somewhere that somebody switched out the the jis screws for the type that take an Allen key. So I did both of these thing aswell as play with the floats someone and I got it to stop leaking. But I I now have another recurring problem . With the the ignition system that I accidentally found the the problem while fixing the leak. I have never seen this and I can explain it or fix it . I will start another post just in case there is another section for ignition problems. Thanx.
