78 GS1000 fuel seepage
So the bike runs great. I noticed the carbs where leaking because the previous owner didn't have the screws very tight. So I finally get the carbs sealed up and now after I ride it I am getting a puddle of gas under the bike after it sits. Its coming out of the rubber hoses on the bottom side of the carbs. Any idea's? If you're referring to the overflow hoses attached to the bottom of the float bowl s, there's too much fuel in the float bowl
So either: your floats are set too high, or the needle and seats are leaking1978 GS 1000 (since new)

Or.. WHite79, maybe you are leaving petcock on PRIme position.
THe float needles do not need to make a perfect seal-shutoff, they can leak a little. THe petcock on the tank is what is suppose to make a good seal shuttoff, but it stays open in the PRIme position.
Also, check you oil level to see it isnt too high. If it is, that will be gas in your oil.http://webpages.charter.net/ddvrnr/GS850_1100_Emblems.jpg

I would be checking your petcock first if it’s not leaking then the carbs can’t overflow unless you’ve got the floats set too high (overflowing on the tilt when on the sidestand?)1980 GS1000G - Sold
