GS 1100 GL petrol tap internals

Hello people just a quick question about the spring inside my tap spring 1.jpg I am trying to find out how it fits or if has been bent out of shape, anybody got a pictur or an idea of how it goes please ? thanks

It's not bent out of shape.

If you look into the body of the petcock, you will see a hole at the bottom. Look closely at the spring, you will see that it will fit around the bore and the pointy tang will fit into the hole. Also look at the back side of the white selector plug. You will see a ramp. When rotated properly, that ramp will push against the pointy tang on the spring, opening the plunger to allow fuel flow in the prime position.
