'83 GS1100G needle shimming question

    '83 GS1100G needle shimming question

    It's been years since I last messed with GS carbs where everything is stock. I seem to remember a tip that involved shimming the slide needle by adding an additional washer under the existing one OR did the tip involve removing the nylon spacer and(?) replacing it with a thin washer?
    Can someone help refresh my memory regarding this matter?

    Present Stable includes:
    '74 GT750 Resto-mod I've owned since '79
    '83 GS1100E (The best E I've ever enjoyed, Joe Nardy's former bike)

          Remove nylon spacer and replace with several that's half the thickness of the spacer, same diameter, I found some washers at Lowes that work

            THAT's the tip I was hoping for. I still have a pack of the necessary washers from the last time I did this minor mod.
