    GS1000E Fuel Gauge Needle Oscillates

Hey guys, I have an issue with my fuel gauge on my 1980 GS1000E. When I ride, the needle on gauge moves from side to side as if it is loose. Wondered if any of you have come across this fault and if so how can I remedy it please.

Sounds like the bimetal strip that flexes and moves eedle has broke. think in terms of how an old mercury thermostat works.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
