[solved] 1983 GS450E: RB10L-BS battery too tall, but specs are the same for YB10L-A2?

I got an RZMoto RB10L-BS battery as a replacement for the OEM YB10L-A2 battery on my bike, but it seems to be too tall. I almost fits, but the slightly-extruding plastic in the middle of the airbox blocks the battery from sliding in all the way. I thought it was weird that it's such a tight fit considering that the OEM battery follows the same specs as the replacement.

Check it out: this is from the GS450E service manual:

    This is OEM: https://www.yuasabatteries.com/battery/yb10l-a2/
    The dimensions are: 135mm x 90mm x 145mm

RZMoto RB10L-BS battery on eBay (archive.is so people in the future can find this): https://archive.ph/uLLcJ
    The dimensions are: 135mm x 90mm x 145mm (±2mm)

What's going on here? Is the height on the YB10L-A2 battery less than its specs indicate it to be? I am hesitant to order another battery online since the RB10L-BS was supposed to fit. I could take it to an auto parts store and find something smaller, but I feel like I shouldn't have to do this.

And yes, I am putting the battery box and air box back together the way it should be. Could I somehow have the wrong battery holder? The holder itself fits without problems and seems to be original.

    Yuasa seems to think that
YB12B-B2 is the direct fit for your bike according to the lookup tool.
    160mm x 90mm x 130mm
    What battery did you remove?

Is the stumbling block a bit of flash or molding excess that can be shaven?

Well look at that! I'm really surprised that the service manual indicated the wrong battery!

I just ordered an equivalent to the YB12B-B2. Thank you so much!

Going by the print style, that service manual looks like a Haynes Book of Lies.
One of the most infamous ones is the torque setting for 6mm bolts - 17ft/lb. Only ten pounds too high.
        Still, typos, eh?
Not that they matter too much most of the time but in some cases they really do.
