12 volt DC Igniter box
Hi, Everybody. I had my 1980 GS1000 all apart doing some painting and cleaning. I'm getting it back together now. I plugged in the connector for the stater, 2 wires, then the 4 wire connector to the ignition box. Turned on the Key. 12volts on the orange/white ignition and kill switch wire. Spark on Home and Groups nothing on Forum and Blogs . Rechecked everything, Then no spark anywhere, I had the igniter box hanging loose from the bike by then not touching anything. Hanging in the air plug connected . I touched my test light to it and it lit up ! Multi-meter says the box is carrying 12 volts ! I just started drinking beer after that,(joking). Bad Igniter Box ? Looking for direction Thanks[SIGPIC1980 GS1000E

Some words get replaced automatically, i believe since the last forum upgrade.
If you edit your post to "nr.1" or "# 1" (note the space between # and 1) it does not get replaced.
Looks like the admin used something like the vBulletin "Replacement Variables" option or a plugin to do so.
Usually used to replace swear words or other unwanted words.
Like on OSS they use it to replace "Ebay" with "Eblag"Last edited by Rijko; 09-20-2023, 09:01 PM.Rijk

I suspect you meant signal generator, 2 wires, not stator, 2 wires.
I’d first check the pins in the connector.
Does your meter confirm that the B/W wire has a ground back to the battery?
Do you have 12V On the O/W wire at each coil?
I don’t know how to prove out the ignitor box or the signal generator.
There may be a procedure in the service manual.Jim, in Central New York State.
