Really need some wire idenification help to finish my 86gs550ESG
So I have made several posts, some may not have been clear. I made good progress today but need help with at least two more wires. One is where the single black wire from top of case (oil level sensor) and the other is a random G/Y . FYI harness isn't installed and routed, it is hooked up to trouble shoot. G.Y.WIRE.jpgTags: None

I have the fuel level sensor accounted for. The black wire in the second picture is the oil sensor but I can't find the female wire. The G/Y in the first picture is the same issue, I can't find the matching wire. I believe I have all the other connectors accounted for. If yo may have read my prior post, I was having a lot of issues was a faulty rectifier that was bad and sending out B+ power to ground (at small 2-3volts). I have the diagram and thanks Cipher for the link. I have the PDF and the full service manual and supplement in print. The wiring diagram is so dang small and in black and white it is hard to follow. Anyone one here that could post a picture of their 550ES wires for those two? Thanks

I am posting the diagram for the group so maybe that will help. Sorry for all the questions, I am having to make one good harness out of 5 used ones! resized.wiring.diagram..jpg

Well found some pictures I took last year when I removed the original harness...notice the black oil sensor wire goes into the G/Y wire unless it has been hooked up wrong for years...advice welcome. I am really trying to be riding by this weekend after two years of restoration time. oil sensor to green.yellow.jpg

So the black wire goes to the G/Y, the black/white wire with the spade connector goes to a matching female spade connector (was missing) that goes to either a direct bolt on the frame of the negative battery terminal. The rectifier was bad sending a very low current through the ground. Once I figured that out, everything seems to be working now. All that is left is to tidy up and route the harness properly, put the airbox (major PITA) and bodywork and I hope to be riding by the end of the weekend. Thanks for the replies. I'll post a picture when its all put together!
