GS bikes have a 5k resistor inside the spark plug cap. For this reason, resistor spark plugs should not be used.
NGK seems to be discontinuing non resistor plugs, but there is always ND, which are similar quality. Or, the plug cap can be taken apart, and the resistor element removed. You have to fashion a copper spacer in place of the resistor, though. I've never done it, but it seems easy enough.Ed
To measure is to know.

I don't run any resistor. I have after market electronic ignition, 4.3ohm coils, 90 degree boots and stock plugs gapped at .030 - no issues with this set up. Pulls hard into triple digit speeds.
I've run several other set ups without resistors and no issues as well.
Both 77 GS750 and 78 GS 1000.
However, if you see a sign that says turn off 2-way radios, you might want to turn around as you might upset someone LOL
Resistors were used to prevent erratic electronic signals - aka radio noise, ant races, fuzzy stuff.Current:
1993 ZX11 - 2nd build in progress
1977 GS750 (710 is getting closer)
1998 Kawasaki Voyager - selling
1998 Chevy C2500
1999 Rav4
