1979 GS550E ignition issue? No spark?

I recently bought a 1979 GS500E off of my cousin and it doesn't spark. I changed the spark plugs and coils but still it doesn't work.

I just changed the handlebar control because I thought maybe it was the kill switch that was broken but it still wont spark.

The starter on the bike has ben broken for a while now, but kickstart always seemed to work until now.

The battery is fully charged, but the volt reading on the ignition wires shows a really low value. How/what should I test to try and find my issue? It has a dyna S ignition system and I tried troubleshooting through their guide, but sadly i'm a beginner and was confused by what they meant with the magnet placement. Any suggestions/things to test please let me know and please be specific on what to do wuth my multimeter becasue I am not very experienced.

Update: I just tested the voltage going to the coils and its 12.9 volts on both.

I would work back from plugs.
change plugs / test HT leads / test coils both in isolation and with ht leads on .

I am afraid I am away and cant describe the coil tests .....but it's checking resistance.

Then your onto test pickups .

Good choice of bike !! and I am interested to hear a 1979 has a kick start ! That's an engine I will search for as a 1980 doesn't .

Guys in here will help I'm sure or I will find my nites on my return to civilization.

    Starter:
Does it spin over if you bridge solenoid?
(not an ideal test but may tell you something)

^^^ That's just brilliant advice, right there. ^^^ How often do we hear about changing everything, but the faulty culprit... and it STILL doesn't start/run/whatever
