Me too Chuck, never liked the sound of resisting the spark, I've always wanted all the spark I could get.

edit: I am completely wrong and I bought D8EA plugs for the ninja…….. I’ll see myself out. LOL

“”””I bought B8ES plugs from an o’reiley auto parts in Chicago right down the street from my house last week. They had them on the shelf. I asked for B9ES and they said they’d have to order them, so I asked about B8ES and he said he had 2 on the shelf.

      these were for a 87 Kawasaki ex500””””

but while I am here, I once had this attitude with my GS1100, and removed all resistance in the secondary side of the ignition coil and it worked great until I decided that my busted up dash instruments were going to get an upgrade and I installed a cheap KOSO brand Speedo/tach setup. I spent a LONG while on my own and communicating with customer service, even sending the unit back, because it would be fine when I turned the key on, but would go all scrambly once I started the engine. I had installed the identical unit on a GS750 and it worked great while I owned the bike.

as you must have guessed by now, the absence of resistance, and EFI suppression, in the secondary ignition path was causing my digital instrument system to go nuts.

I put resistor plugs in and felt foolish for a while, then went back to learning other stuff by inadvertently causing problems to my motorcycles

You didnt cause problems with your motorcycle. The problem came inwhen you decided to put aftermarket electronics on it. Lets just be honest about that litte detail.

NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

            Which is true enough.

I wonder if a GPS or other types of accessories would be affected. I have to assume that a modern cell phone is constructed in a way that minimizes the EFI problems associated with this straight-thru spark wire setup. I don’t remember having any issues with a phone (ie recording a video of the gauge glitching out)
