    SH775 on a GS1000L - two locations - no luck

I am trying to mount the SH775 on my GS1000L. I tried locating in where the existing rectifier and regulator were but I couldn't get the side cover on. I then tried under the battery box but it is too thick. Has anyone found a suitable location on these bikes?

Can the starter relay and or fusebox be shifted around?
Generally these battery boxes have unused holes giving options for placement of stuff.

I will look into moving the starter relay. Thanks.

On my 650, I mounted it upside down under the “bridge” holding the seat up.

Another potential option - thanks. Did the wires reach or did you have to extend them?

On my 79 gs1000L I "temporarily" mounted it to the back of the electronics plate, between it and the airbox. Its not a SH775 but it seems to have the exact same metal case, and has wires instead of connectors.

Great - thanks. Did you have to move the battery box?

Existing wires reached. Actually I left my existing shunt r/r in place as I was testing the sh-775 out….it worked as advertised

No, it ended up above the battery box, beside the airbox.
