No Spark on 2 and 3! Frustrating as can be.

I have a 1982 gs650 and I love riding it. A couple months ago I rode to work perfectly fine, then I go to leave and my bike blew fuses, lost my gear indicator and neutral light, and starting became an issue. Pulled it apart in the parking lot and found the fuses and replaced them, turn the bike on and immediately fuses blow again. I was *@%^$*@%^$*@%^$*@%^$ed. Luckily I had a few more, I ended up leaving one fuse out (cluster lights) and made it home. I decided to park it because I was beyond frustrated and left it in the garage for the time being. I went back out and got it running with everything lit up and functioning no fuses blowing which is great, I cleaned up the connections for the tube fuses and that issue disappeared. But now it doesn't fire on 2 and 3 and its *@%^$*@%^$*@%^$*@%^$ing me off so much. I swapped the plug wires from 1&4 to 2&3 and the issue is still on 2&3. Coil has 4-6 ohms primary, i am not sure how to check for secondary. I am not a electrical genie and hate messing with it, I have the clymer manual and tried following it there and I just cant, no help. Has anyone experienced this on their bike and if so what was the cause of the issue!!! Please help me out here as I want to ride badly, I dont know what to look for.

Try swapping the coils from side to side and see if the problem moves to 1&4. If it does, then it sounds like a coil issue.
If the problem stays on 2&3 we may have to get into the TCI module.

You might want to check your wiring loom too. To blow fuses like that you sounds like an intermittent short to ground. The insulation on a 40+ year old bike wiring can get brittle and worn where is subjected to movement around the steering head. The horn on my 650 used to come on when I turned the bars due to wiring loom wear and tear.

Sometimes a cause of fuse blowing is a short to ground in a horn. If fuse blows as soon as turn on key then can suspect maybe a horn. Disconnect wires from horn(s), and try again.
NOte: on our GSes, dont need to press horn button for horn problem to blow a fuse, since is hot power to horn and then the horn button complets the ground.

If fuse blows as soon as replace fuse, even if key is off, then can suspect fault in the R/R. Disconnect the R/R and try again.

          Good troubleshooting technique.

THat then makes me suspect one or both of the 2&3 plugs themselves.

How long was it parked? Sounds like it could also be a fuel issue (i.e. no fuel getting to cylinder). If you put a high dose of Seafoam or similar in the tank & run it around you might get lucky otherwise Carbs will need to come off to be cleaned.....

When were the carbs last cleaned & O rings replaced?

So you’ve pulled the plugs out, put them in their caps and laid the tip of each one against the head and saw that the plugs coming from a particular coil never spark when you press the start button?

                Just for clarification:
Title says “no spark” which would be an electrical issue.

Post says “ no fire” which could be electrical or fuel issue.
