Rick’s stator and Rick’s rectifier install

Hello gents, long time no post. I have a question on my install wiring. My bike is a 1982 Suzuki GS1000S Katana. It’s quit charging. I have a new Ricks stator and Rick’s rectifier in hand. I’m not good with electrical anything. I have not unplugged anything but I’m looking at Rick’s stator wires and they’re all black? My oem wires have colors that match oem stator wiring. How do I know which black wire from ricks stator plug into ricks rectifier? Currently oem wiring from oem rectifier match colors from oem stator. Any help appreciated!

The stator wires are all equal. You can plug them in any which way. Regarding a R/R, you should have bought a SH775, it's much better than the unit you bought.

Been a while since I’ve messed with this bike. I should have known that. Oh well gotta work with what I have now. I doubt I’ll ride it enough to really tell a difference. It was charging until I got the engine too hot I guess balancing the carbs last week. It literally dropped charging all together then. It’s back up some but not enough reason I’m making the charging changes. Waiting on a gasket at the moment. Bought an oem one local and of course the dealership didn’t order when I paid for it. Typical business practice here locally I’ve grown tired of.

Ok I stumbled through the hook up. I know the cover removal it’s easy. It’s charging 14.26v at idle now. No leaks no issues. I cleaned all the old butt connectors and hit them with a sanding block to shine. Added dielectric grease liberally and that’s it. Headlight is now bright at idle. I’m good with it all. I tested battery before and after. Battery is 3 years old but never been used really, on a tender the whole time. Bike runs great! Amazing part is it’s 43 years old and I wouldn’t hesitate to strike out on it. Hell I can work on it with a few basic hand tools. Not the case with my 21, 22, 23 models. They’re broke down they’re broke down it’s a tow truck or my truck and trailer.
