    stator and r/r 85 gs 700

    I am not sure if my stator or r/r is bad I have a honda r/r on the way from duanege if my stator is bad can it damage the new r/r should i just wait until i have both new parts after going over the stator papers I got mixed results from fellow members some said stator some said r/r not against buying a new stator just trying to stay on a budget thank you 780GT

    Disconnect the RR from Stator & measure the output of stator legs with bike running. (Measure one leg to next, etc)

    If all are upwards of 65VAC at 5,000 RPM then it's your RR. (As this shows Stator working fine).

    I don't think you would damage the RR if you run the engine with a bust Stator for a short length of time in order to get measurements.
