charging troubles

    charging troubles

    at idle am charging 13.5 but fall to around 11.5 with revs over 1150 rpm. new stator, new rotor, ground seems good, engine runs great but won't charge battery at road speeds. am I overlooking something? engine has 56000 minle on it. call me confused and looking for help.

    Had more or less the same issue with my 750. For me it was a) corroded connections at the R/R combined with b) bad ground lead from the R/R. I snipped off the connector and replaced with individual spades and also ran an additional line from the R/R ground directly to the battery negative. Fixed it.

    I have also read somewhere that this could be a bad R/R but try my fixes first....a bit cheaper.

      Thanks!! I will look at those areas. Have been riding this bike since 1999 and have put 50000 miles on it with almost no trouble. Glad to find the forum and will be a regular reader.
