I relocate the Ignitor box to the other side of the bike (closest to the negative battery terminal) and ground directly to the battery. I started up the bike, so I know that it runs with the Ignitor on the other side. I am not an electrician, is it safe to relocate this?

GS450 - Is it safe to relocate Ignitor box?
Got a new Electrosport ESR100 R/R for the 82 GS450 yesterday. Upon installing, I realize that the new one is about 2 times as big as the stock R/R...even had to buy longer screws. Now my Ignitor won't fit on the bracket cause the new R/R is too big!

Yup.
As long as its securely fastened, the connectors are good and there are no pinched, twisted or cracked lines you'll be good to go.
Post a pic so others can see what you did. Might help someone else in the future.
cheers,

I will post some pics soon to let others see what I did. Probably not the "cleanest" mount, but good enough for me!
