    Indicator 3 pin or 2

I have just replaced my inidcator relay as it was cheap and nasty and didnt work.

I looked up the part and it said a two pin, yet I have a 3 pin connector. the old relay was three pin yet some one hadd added wires...bit strange.

I bought the 2 pin and plugged it in and one side works but one side doesn't... think I may just need a 3 pin ... does anyone know please?

I think three pin is for bikes with self cancel signals.

It helps if you would reveal what bike you're working on and approximately where on this big blue marble you are located.

There are important differences between models and countries.

Now, using certain powers of deduction, I'm guessing you have a shaftie with auto cancel signals.

A two-pin flasher from the auto parts store will do the trick -- the signals will flash, but they won't auto-cancel. You will need to experiment to figure out which two of the three wires to hook up to the flasher. I don't bother remembering which, since it takes 30 seconds to plug it in different ways until it works. If you need to get the wires out of the connector, you can use anything thin and sharpish, like a paperclip, to release the locking tabs on the terminals.
