Compufire RR - Yes or No ??

Got kinda lost on the RR discussions but it appeared to me the compufire unit works well and solves the fried stator issue. If this is so, where to buy and are there any special tricks for install? I found a rather detailed posting on this and now can't find it again. Argh!

Since I like to ride fairly fast, I believe I'll need one of these. Any help with opinions and directions appreciated. Also a link to the compufire thread would be appreciated too.

I had found a posting showing wiring connections etc for the comufire somewhere on this site and now can't find it. It had many pictures including a shot of the corner of the heatsink needing to be slightly clearanced to fit the original mounting plate without hitting the frame. Can't find this posting.

Anyone got a link for it?

I'm going to order the compufire 3 and install same. Just don't know if it's as easy as follow the directions in the box or some special stuff needs to be done with the GS.

            Compufire Wiring Questions

When making up the wiring on the Compufire 3, I assume the 3-socket plug that comes on the unit that goes to the stator will not mate with the zuke's wiring harness. That means I'll have to cut the old connector off the stock RR and splice to the new RR.

            Question:

Does it matter which of the 3 wires from the RR goes to the each of the 3 wires from the stator? If so, which one goes where?

I've wired up a few BSA's with 2 phase setups and it didn't matter. Don't know if it's the same with this 3 phase setup.

Compufire should provide a mating connector for the 10" or so pigtail for the 3P stator. Unfortunately mine did not have any pins in it but I had a spare.
Stator leg order does not matter the same as any GS 3 phase R/R.
