    Starter Relay Replacement- 82 GS1100E

Went for a ride this morning, everything ran great. When I went to restart the bike I got the dreaded click, click from the starter relay. I know its not the battery its only a week old. The relay only has one small wire coming from it, plus the usual heavy wires. I have a couple of other Suzuki starter relays but they are dual wire. Is there a way to use them or do I have to get a single wire relay.

Found the problem. Following the wires from the relay I happened to put my hand on the starter cover and it's very warm. Removed the cover and the starter is very, very hot!! Pulled it and I can hear grinding as I turn the gear on the starter. Time for a rebuild.

the other relays you have 2 wire?

just ground 1 of them to frame or solenoid mounting if it is frame grounded. and the positive signal from the button wire to the other one - simple.
