Wierd problem with starting.
I have 11.6V at the battery. 11.4V at the coils. When I crank the bike over it tries for a min then it acts like the battery is dead (slows down then just clicks). I can't remember how many volts/ohms from the spark plug caps but I get a nice blue spark when placed on the head. Could it be the coils or the starter maybe?Tags: None

Don't blame either the coils or the starter yet, start accusing the battery, instead.
If you only have 11.something volts, your battery is WAY low. Even with the key ON before starting the bike, you should not be less than 12.0.

If the battery is charged it should read 12.6 volts. I would suspect it drops way down when you try and start it. charge the battery first.

Will do the test in the stator papers. The battery is about a yr old and it sat for a while. I plan on replacing the battery but funds are low for a little while.
