    82 gs1100L stator

My stator tests bad, will that make bike run bad. I kind of figure that it is not getting enough power to lite the coils right, tell me if I am not thinking right.

    Greetings and Salutations!!

    Hi Mr. wdmnerc,

Did you use The Stator Papers to test your charging system? Yes, if your stator is not putting out the proper voltage your bike is running totally on battery power. Once your battery is drained electrical things stop working; lights, starter, coils, spark plugs, etc.

Let me dump a TON of information on you. It's your "mega-welcome". The two links in the "mega-welcome" contain hundreds of links to manuals, guides, tips, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting articles, vendors, etc. Let's get started.

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

If there's anything you'd like to know about the Suzuki GS model bikes, and most others actually, you've come to the right place. There's a lot of knowledge and experience here in the community. Come on in and let me say "HOoooowwwDY!"....

Here is your very own magical, mystical, mythical, mind-expanding "mega-welcome". Please take notice of the "Top 10 Common Issues", the Carb Rebuild Series, and the Stator Papers. Now let me roll out the welcome mat for you...

Please click here for your mega-welcome, chock full of tips, suggestions, links to vendors, and other information. Then feel free to visit my little BikeCliff website where I've been collecting the wisdom of this generous community. Don't forget, we like pictures! Not you, your bike!

Thanks so much, I did use the stator papers helped alot. This is my second gs1100L bought on ebay it had sat for 6 years with half a tank of gas, guy said he parked it for carb problems but I think it was charging because It already had a new rectifier. Once again thanks, this is a great site.
