    Battery Hold Down?

I just installed a new big crank battery in my 1150. Are these bikes suppose to have some kind of strap for the battery? Mine doesn't and it seems the battery can pivot at the bottom and come out of the tray.

    Thanks!

I know the PO used a torn up bungee cord on mine that I replaced with one of those velcro straps you can get at Walmart. It is a bit long but I wrap one end around the frame before strapping it at the battery box.

Parts fishe doesn't show any hold down device. You can check for yourself by going to one of the various on-line parts fishe... http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm

The battery just sits in there - no strap.

should your battery have enough room to move that much?

Nope there's no strap. The Battery should be a yuasa syn14l-b2 it comes with the level probe installed.
the dimensions are Width 90mm Height 166mm L133mm.

            hope that helps.

              Strapped

I may just have a nice, content, docile battery because it's never tried to get away from me yet....and I don't have a tie down.
