Brain fart on starter relay wiring 82GS650GL

Just finished a duaneage supplied R/R replacement .Very easy change over, until I had a brain fart. I forgot to take a digital pic of my wiring for the starter relay, before I started the job. The pic attached shows the relay attached to the battery box.

Does the + from battery go on the post at 7:00 and Starter wire go on post at 1:00? Also, there should be a black w/white stripe ground wire attached, but where? Thanks for the help in advance. Pic of relay attached, note yellow w/green stripe wire . MUBULLDOG

You attach the main leads (large ones )so they dont short to frame. Doesnt really matter which.

The black and white is a ground and the mount needs to be grounded.

The yellow grean comes from teh right hand switch

Hi Pospalyr, since the power (+) cable is short, I figured it will only attach to the 7:00 (closest post) and then the main going to the starter will reach the 1:00 post. My confusion is should I attach a ground wire to the 1:00 post, or really were should it be attached to the relay?

The ground wire (black and white) should be attached to one of the bolts that holds the solenoid (the proper name for the starter relay) to the battery box panel. If you connect it to either of the large terminals on top, you will have a brief shower of sparks. If you connect it to the battery terminal, the shower will be as soon as the connection is made, but if you connect to the starter terminal, the shower will wait until you press the starter button.

See that empty hole at the top, at the 11 o'clock position? Attach the ground wire there when you put the bolt in that hole.
