My older Honda front runing lights cut off when their respective left or right side signal lights are deployed. I'm sure this is intended to make the signal light more visable for safety sake. Should my Suzuki be the same way?

Front Running/Signal Light Proper Operation?
My 1981 GS1100EX has the standard dual filament 23/8 watt front signal/running light bulbs. When operating my bike the 8 watt running light filament is on all the time, even when I have the left or right turn signal lights (23 watt filaments) activated. Is this correct, or should, for example, the left front running light be off when the left side signal light is activated?

No, Suzuki had not figured out how Honda did that.
I also have enjoyed the blanking of the running light on that side when the signal is activated, but I have only seen that on Hondas.
