Horn and console lights mystery
Help! My son has a 1982 GS 450 TZ that was fine when the riding season began this year. For some reason, while just sitting in the garage both the horn, high/low beam light, and gear indicator light all stopped working. Tonight I pulled the horn switch apart to check the contacts after testing the horn to make sure it worked by applying 12 V, which it did. After cleaning the horn button contacts I used an ohmeter to check continuity of the wires which was also good so when I pushed the button I got a good reading on ohm gauge. Put it back together thinking it was fixed and still nothing! I haven't even begun to figure out what's happened to the console lights as I've gotten pretty fed up with the horn issue. Like I said, one day everything was fine, next time it was started, all sorts of problems. Only thing working in the console is the turn indicators. Any ideas before I torch this P.O.S. for the insurance?Tags: None
