what rotor ?
I have recently replaced the stator on my 1979 GS850 GN, couldn't get a 12 pole, was told that 18 pole would work, but it didn't. I have found out (through GS resources) that i have to place the rotor aswell. Does anybody have any idea of which rotor i need to go with my new 18 pole

Hi Mr. adrian h,

Who told you a 12 pole wasn't available?
Much easier to get the correct stator than another rotor, and cheaper.
Send that 18 pole back to whoever you bought it from and get your money back1978 GS 1000 (since new)

Hi,
I've not been able to find a 12 pole stator, but I haven't looked all that hard, just the usual places. You can get them rewound at several places on the interweb for about $80.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
