'78 GS1000E Self Canceling turn signals.

Is there any way to cut the unit off the harness to the self canceling box, and reconfigure the wiring on the plug so the turn signals are manual, eliminating the box?

If you want to revert back to manual turn signals I would suggest looking at the GS1000C wiring diagram and go from there. I would not suggest cutting off the SCTS from the harness. Found this thread below

It turned out that I didn't have to convert to a manual system. I was having trouble with my clocks, lights flickering and going out all the time. After looking at the wiring schematic, I had a hunch that maybe the two were related. I changed the clocks over to the set off my '79, and sure enough, it was the distance counter circuit for the self canceling unit in the speedometer that made the turn signals erratic and unreliable.
