    1979 GS 850 stator output

I'm thinking about getting an electric jacket for the winter, but I'm a little concerned with being able to power it. I've had problems previously with blowing a fuse when my bright was on, but I think this related to old fuse holder and corrosion. My manual doesn't state wattage output.
    thanks in advance

I run a Widder heated vest and Hot Hands heated grips (the removable kind). Charge rate is borderline, but it works. I'm still running the original stator by the way, and I have 86k on the clock now.

You also have the newer 18-pole, higher-output stator that was introduced in 1980, when they eliminated the kick-starter.
