Plug Wires

So the other day I was sniffing around my local Value Village store, seeing what goodies they might have, when I came across this...


I said to myself ,"Hooza! I've got to be able to use that!!! And Im sure its worth more then $3.99"

So my questions for you guys today is... Am I able to use this on my bike? Will I need resistive spark plugs or are these wires themselves resistive?

Just the wires and reg auto ends will work. Do not use the stock plug caps.

Those wires are resistive. The stock caps are resistive. You cannot use both together. You will need standard rubber spark plug boots to use those wires. They should work just fine that way.

These ones came with regular automotive caps on them so thats wonderful. The caps are on both ends though so I guess Ill cut one end short and use it that way.

If you have stock coils removing the wires isn't as easy as just pulling them out. There are tons of threads on this topic in the archives and I don't want to duplicate them, but you might want to do a search, or look up some info on basscliff's site, before you tackle the job.

I did that search. It seems simple enough, chip away at epoxy until you can yank the wire out, clean up the hole being careful not to damage the pin, epoxy in new wire. I was just cuious about the implications of using a wire made for automotive use rather then the stock solid copper wire.

Speaking of implications... Will I see any performance gain? or loss? (besides the obvious added power for having bright blue plug wires)

No power gain unless your old wires are causing a misfire condition.

Bright blue = +0.01 seconds & +.3 mph in the quarter mile. Bright red = +0.23 seconds & +2.0175 mph in the quarter mile. Approximately.

I would be careful of connecting carbon wires to a coil designed for copper core wire. That spike and the carbon core may not stay married for long I think!

If these were not so dang expensive I would love to try a set!! There are several of the fart pipe import tuner wannabes in my neighborhood that must be using them.

What in the world is an "ignition molecule"? Do you need the flux capacitor installed also? And why can't they leave my motor apex alone?

Just make sure you have the wide diameter hollow plug wires for more molecules to generate a bigger spark!

Retard the timing by using longer wires or shorter to advance
