What I would like is a factory source for this biscuit. Second choice would be a source for a sheet of rubber that I could cut myself. I found a 12x12x.250 for $100, but would prefer something a bit more reasonable.

Source for rubber biscuit for stator wires
Does anyone know where I can get these? I rebuilding stators and putting 16 gauge high-temp wire from the stator to the R/R. I have drilled/cut the holes in the rubber biscuit that seals the oil in the stator cover, but it is ugly and a PITA. Plus I have not been able to safely remove the biscuit from the old wiring harness. I know they are around because Rick's puts them on theirs.

Hi,
In the few years that I've been here I've never heard anyone mention a source for that rubber grommet. I had to reuse the original until I put a Rick's stator on my bike. I don't know where Rick's gets theirs. Maybe you can ask them?
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

Why would it "raise their ire"?
Simply ask them if the pieces are available and ask how much they are.

Couple of ideas here George, I prefer # 2 for you but that's just me.
Idea # 1 - Post in the parts wanted section for the used biscuits and stators, I would think there are a bunch of bad stators in most GSers parts collections. I know I have an old stator and biscuit that you are welcome to rebuild.
Idea # 2 - Buy a new stator, use the biscuit and throw the stator away.82 GS850L - The Original http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/d...ePics067-1.jpg
