Head Light Dim's
When i'm out at night riding i'm seeing my headlight flicker but not totaly out . At idle it'll be bright but once i start moving the light will dim then brighten up . Only does this when i'm riding but sitting still it's fine . I've checked all connection's and there clean and tight . So would the stator be the bug or the regulator ? .
The battery is fine and charging and full of fluid so rule that outTags: None

Sounds like dodgy points to me.
Can you check the voltage that is being supplied to the lights when the bike is under load?
It is most likely dropping by the time it gets to the light. Check points and/or any dodgy wiring. I've found alot of gunk on my points that have affected sufficient power getting through...but my bike has been parked for a few years i thinks.

In addition to checking your wiring to ensure it's in order, have you gone through the stator papers yet?Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

My only question is what would the type of ignition have anything to do with his lights dimming while riding? Isn't this more of a charging issue as in something being overtaxed?Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

Most likely a bad regulator., but you need to check thru the stator pages. also check for any voltage drop across the ign switch

Hi,
It seems that many people find the forums and don't realize that there is an entire GSR website. The link is at the bottom of this page, or you can CLICK HERE to go to the GSR Homepage. From there you'll find The Garage Section, The Carb Cleanup Series, and lots of other helpful links. For additional information you can click the link in my sig to visit my little website.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
